As the CEO, you’re not unlike a choreographer ensuring every moving piece is doing its part in the performance. A
choreographer needs to be able to envision each step of the dance and communicate it to his dancers. Without a cohesive vision and the skills to share it appropriately, he won’t do much more than create a slightly more graceful version of chaos and confusion.
Similarly, any CEO worth his weight has a vision: an idea or plan for where the company is headed and the steps that are needed to take it there. From where I stand, communicating your company vision is step No. 1 — period. A company vision, after all, is a pathway to smarter decisions, happier employees, greater productivity, passion in action, excellent output, growth, and profitability.
